Designed specifically for children ages birth to 5 years old, The Children's Museum of the Upstate’s Spartanburg location is a place of possibility where children and adults alike can explore, discover, imagine, pretend, and be anything!
All adults must be accompanied by a child, and children under age 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. We require one adult for every 5 children.
All groups of 10 or more are asked to make a reservation 30 days in advance. Click here to learn more.
The museum is closed on Mondays during the school year, with the exception of certain holidays as noted on our calendar. The museum is open 7 days a week during the summer starting on Memorial Day until Labor Day. View the latest updates, events, and daily programming by visiting our calendar.
The museum is closed on New Year's Day, Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.
For the protection of the exhibitions and safety of our guests, we do not permit food, gum or drinks inside the museum or exhibit galleries. Re-entry is permitted the same day by showing your wristband.
TCMU-Spartanburg is designed for children ages 5 and under. All of the exhibits were developed on a smaller scale to meet the physical needs of early learners, meaning counters are built for their height, crawling areas are padded for infants, and interactives are provided for their interests. Exhibits also incorporate learning goals and educational standards for children birth to age five.
