Summer Camps 2019

Get ready for a summer of learning and play! TCMU camps deliver multiple educational and cultural experiences for children, with experienced educators and hands-on STEAM learning in a safe, all-inclusive environment.

Full payment must be made at the time of registration. Emergency medical form must be completed and or on file prior to the start of camp.



  • For children ages 3-6 years old
  • Camps are on Monday mornings from 9am-12pm
  • Drop-off between 8:45-9:00am; Pick-up between 11:45-12:00pm
  • Members - $20/day
  • Non-Members - $25/day


  • The museum offers no refunds for camp. Campers can be moved to another week of camp if space is available.
  • Programs with low enrollment 10 days prior to start date are subject to cancellation. Minimum enrollment of 3 students per age group is required to run each camp. If camp cancellation occurs, camp registrants will be notified and given the opportunity to select another week of camp or receive a refund.



Get ready to join us at TCMU-Spartanburg for a morning full of engineering fun! Your 3-6 year-old will have a chance to participate in both structured and self-led LEGO building challenges which will build problem-solving and critical thinking skills, plus enhance their understanding of principles of physics. They will also have a chance to explore the museum exhibits, especially experimenting with LEGOs and water flow in our water table!

Get ready for some creepy crawly fun at TCMU-Spartanburg this morning! Your little etymologists will participate in a variety of art and literacy activities and even get to check out some real insects to practice the skills of observation and documentation. Campers will also have a chance to play in the museum and hunt for hidden creatures!

Grab your paint brushes and join us at TCMU-Spartanburg for a morning filled with creative fun! Your 3-6 year olds will read about a famous artist and participate in a variety of art techniques that will help to develop communication, motor skills, and social emotional skills. Of course there will be time to enjoy exhibit play in the museum!

Celebrate an early Independence Day with us at TCMU-Spartanburg! Your little ones will read a fun patriotic story, participate in a variety of guided and self-led red, white and blue art experiences and check out some stars and stripes science. They will also enjoy exhibit play and a scavenger hunt in the museum!

Put on your construction hats and join us as we convert TCMU-Spartanburg into a work zone! Your little ones will read about construction vehicles, explore art with construction materials and participate in building challenges. They will also have the opportunity to explore the museum’s exhibits, especially Spartanburg Rising where they can join in on the downtown development!

Put on your scuba gear and join us for a morning of oceanic fun at TCMU-Spartanburg! Your little learners will enjoy ocean-themed sensory play, aquatic art and splashy stories, plus they’ll get to observe a cool creature visiting from the sea. Campers will also have the opportunity to explore water currents in our water table during museum play.

Ahoy Mateys! Get your parrots and eye patches ready for a swash buckling morning at TCMU-Spartanburg! Our little learners will be making treasure maps and sunken treasure sensory bottles, plus explore a variety of sensory activities with math and science concepts in mind. They will also practice motor skills with plank-walking activities and use a map to find treasures in the exhibits during museum play.

Calling all budding musicians to join us for a morning of musical fun at TCMU-Spartanburg! Your 3-6 year-olds will participate in sing-along stories, beat and rhythm activities, instrument play and musical interpretive art. There will also be a chance to explore the museum’s exhibits and participate in our morning’s music and movement program.

Get your capes ready to join us for a morning of superhero training at TCMU-Spartanburg! Your little ones will enjoy superhero dramatic play, design ways to save pets in distress and participate in creative literacy activities. They may come as a superhero they already know, but they’ll leave with their own super identity! They will also have a chance to enjoy museum exhibit play (just in case there’s anyone that needs saving).
