Grown-ups and children can attend in costumes and explore science, art, and more through our Halloween-themed activities. From spooky experiments and ghostly art projects to eerie inventions and mysterious stories, you won't want to miss this not-so-scary event!
Ghostly Rockets: at 10am & 3pm - Make ghosts fly with this fun twist on alka-seltzer rockets. Guests can join us in front of the museum for this spook-tacular demonstration.
Spook!Lab: drop-in from 10am-4pm - Create a Halloween catapult. Can you launch the jack-o-lantern into the cauldron?
Story Time & More: 10am, 11am, & 1pm - Read Room on the Broom, by Julia Donaldson then create a craft featuring a silly witch on a broom like the one from the story.
Witchy Slime: at 11am - Check out this science demonstration to learn about polymers and the differences between liquid and solid, with a witchy twist.
Pumpkin Ooze: at 12pm - Watch a chemical reaction ooze from inside a Jack-o-Lantern.
Monster Toothpaste: at 1pm - This chemical reaction is fit for a monster.
Spooky Sensory Play: drop-in from 2-4pm - Visit our classroom to feel some gooey slime, explore spooky sensory bins, create with pumpkin playdough and more.
Glow in the Dark Oobleck: at 2pm - Get hands-on with this non-newtonian fluid and see how it moves through your fingers.
Potion Making: at 2pm - In this spooky Halloween themed experiment children will get to see what oil and water do when you add alka-seltzer.
Trick-or-Treating: from 10am-3pm - Children can trick-or-treat as they interact with staff members for non-edible items including spider stickers, pumpkin pencils and more.
Pumpkin Contest: all day - View our display of carved pumpkins and vote on your favorite.
